Systems and Ethics in Decision Making

Background Information

Rapid changes in technology and approach have today made healthcare systems to be very competitive since every institution opts to use costs intensive methods and instruments as well as ensuring that they offer quality services and products. Also, with the increasing world population, it means that the number of patients who will be visiting the healthcare systems will increase hence the need to ensure that all the necessary platforms are laid to ensure the smooth operation of the organization. However, to see an increase in the number of patients who visits the hospital for primary healthcare services, its services must be of high quality as well as customer satisfaction from every good consumed or service received must be realized.

Healthcare system relationships that are necessary for organizational goal achieving

Relationship between a caregiver and a patient

The management of a healthcare system must ensure that it is ready to adjust to the rapid changes within the sector for a healthy nation. Also, the institution should focus on providing patients and other potential customers with quality products and improved facilities, which contributes highly to improving their health. It is challenging to meet such goals in a healthcare system without a formed relationship that will see employees, patients, and physicians link well in daily activities (Abimbola et al., 2017). One of the most important relationships within the healthcare system that will see the goals met is the caregiver (nurse) and the patient relationship.

Caregivers are the immediate people who spend most of the time with patients, and mostly the inpatients; hence suitable relationships among them will see many of them visiting the system.

Doctors might seem to be the most important people within a healthcare system, but they only offer their services on short moments to patients and go. They spend very little time with the patients and even within the healthcare facility. However, caregivers are the people who keep on checking the patients as well as sharing crucial confidential information among them. This, therefore, would mean that the better the relationship between a caregiver and the patients, the more the patient’s population will increase in a healthcare system.

Relationship between and physician and caregiver

A patient’s healthy life is the primary goal of every healthcare system; doctors are known for testing and diagnosing the illness that the patients are suffering from while the caregiver is to monitor their progress as well as encouraging the patient through counseling for a quicker recovery. A nurse is entitled to monitor and report to the doctor any progress the patient is making. Therefore, once a good relationship exists between these two people, it would be easy to offer quality and required service to a patient without diagnosing a wrong health complication (Ghiasipour et al., 2017). Linking it with an organization, leaders have to relate well with the employees to ensure that there is no mess within an organization during production hence realization of the set goals.

Despite the healthcare system being a center for solving health complications, it plays a vital role in equipping its employees with skills in solving a problem which they encounter. The institution sets a better platform for problem-solving since diagnosing a patient entails identifying a problem, looking for its potential cause, treating it with appropriate drugs or services after a proper therapy as well as putting in place suitable future problem mitigation measures. This process therefore equips its members with greats skills of solving other life problems through the most equitable way. Despite healthcare systems undergoing tremendous development in terms of technological improvement and advancement, there are stills cases of increased diseases around the world (Vest & Kash, 2016). My question therefore is, can there be any mechanism put in place by physicians to ensure that the diagnosed diseases can never be contracted again?

Conclusions

Despite a healthcare system being a sensitive system in a nation, it is also a profit-making organization. People pay for the services received; hence its stakeholders and employees must just come together and work towards goal achieving. The creation of a pleasant environment both for the employees and customers is what increases the percentage of patients; hence it should be a significant concern even within other organizations whose aim is to increase the number of customers flocking into their stores.
